We would like to sincerely thank the Honourable Supreme Court of India for taking swift and compassionate action to protect Delhi’s street dogs. This decision not only safeguards the lives of hundreds of thousands of community dogs, but also demonstrates the wisdom of relying on science-based policies that promote vaccination, spay-neuter, and responsible feeding to humanely manage dog populations.
We strongly believe in keeping people safe while also protecting India's centuries-old practice of caring for community dogs. To achieve this, we urge that more resources be devoted to proven, effective solutions. Instead of allocating government funds toward catch-and-kill or impoundment, we respectfully request that these resources be directed toward the Animal Birth Control program and other humane initiatives that truly serve both people and animals.
